Alice in Wonderland – As the story goes, Alice is walking through the fields of buttercups and comes upon the mushrooms. Well, here are some of the mushrooms and the caterpillar she meets. I think I have gotten too picky with details as this is taking me too long to paint – I am anxious to get more finished so it makes more sense to viewers. Of course, it’s not your child friendly PG rated work due to her nakedness, but there really is a reason and a story within the story behind it all. Once it’s finished, I may or may not relate that. Personally, I think it’s more fun to just hear how others view it and what their own thoughts are about my original work. Well, back to painting!
So, I guess there is some sort of bug going around here and of course, I got it. Yucky feeling, stomach pain, nausea, headache, and the old standby, my good friend, diarrhea. Needless to say I haven’t gotten much done during that time and had to take some sick days off. Feeling sick right after our company left put me behind.
Once I finally started to feel better and like I really wasn’t dying of some awful disease, I started playing on my computer with my Photoshop program to experiment with some other stuff and lo and behold, I created this image. Naturally, this isn’t the full size but at least you get an idea of what it looks like. I am going to put it on some items in my Cafepress and Zazzle stores so if you really like it, give me a day and I will have it listed there for you to purchase.
Alice’s painting is still coming along and I did get more detail work and some other stuff started in the scene but not enough prior to the visitors coming the past week and the icky feeling of sick so I decided to not post a picture of it yet. I just feel like what I am doing needs to be more recognizable before it is shown.
Well, that’s about it for tonight!
I haven’t gotten as much completed on the painting as planned due to family coming in from Texas this weekend past, but have managed to get some more details added. Still have a long way to go…
Alice is progressing nicely as I continue to paint. Usually I paint the background first but for some reason (maybe it’s because it’s from Wonderland) I am painting backwards, from foreground to background. Apparently it is working for me so I will continue to add.
Another long work day tomorrow should have me in a place near completion…unless something happens to prevent it. Nah. That’s not gonna happen.

I wasn’t happy with the way the large painting was going. No matter where I sat it here in the house it didn’t look good, didn’t feel good. So, I painted over it and began again. Now, it feels right and I awaken excited to get it finished. This is the beginnings of the new Alice in Wonderland painting.
The lighting in my house really sucks for photo taking and there is always a glare but I promise I will take the finished painting picture outside with natural light so all the details can be seen well.
What fun it is to “just paint” what I am feeling rather than trying to figure out what comes next! I am so anxious to show it all finished too!
